Homelake Military Veterans Cemetery
The planning process for creating the Homelake Military Veterans Cemetery master plan was a collaborative effort with input from the Homelake Veterans Center, (HVC), the Colorado Department of Human Services, History Colorado and members of the public who attended the public meetings.
The cemetery site, separated from roads and daily activities is a quiet place. Views from the site in nearly all directions are predominantly of natural areas and open space.
The 1.75 acre triangular site north of the existing cemetery was the selected location for the expansion. Based on site analysis, tt was the most appropriate location for the expansion due to its relationship to the existing cemetery, existing access via Patton Drive and available land.
The plan was developed from the beginning to recognize, embrace and respect the integrity of the existing cemetery. It currently provides for 192 cremation and 414 full size casket internment gravesites.
